Who is “Jeffrey Chandel”? established 1957 in the small town of Carterton, the hub of the Wairarapa. Manufacturing all types of outerwear, men’s suits and women’s fashion garments by the founder a master tailor. As time went by “Jeffrey Chandel” became known New Zealand wide as a specialist in leatherwear especially in motor bike leathers. Later in 1961 when the demand had grown for fashion leathers Jeffrey Chandel became known through the media as “The New Zealand Leather King”. Not only for the local market but exports became the target, the main aim being quality first, at the right price with guaranteed workmanship.

We produce garments of Lambskin, Calf, Goat and deerskin, for motor bike gear we use cowhide. Over the years Jeffrey Chandel has been honored with many awards, Air NZ export award, Peat Marwick award, Malcolm Budridge award, Regional awards and more, all presented for excellence in manufacture and exporting. To day with new technology we can now reach the market through our website. We can supply our customers with one garment or with multiple orders. Our styling is aimed to look good for many years to come. We believe that a well-made garment should, after years of wear still look as good as the day of purchase, quality and workmanship is guaranteed.
